On May 18, 2022, the SAMPE Benelux Spring meeting 2022 took place in Enchede. This was coupled with a visit to the thermoplastic composites research center (TPRC). The day before, the SAMPE Benelux student competition usually takes place, where both master students and PhD students present their research to a jury, where the award for the best master and best PhD student presentation is presented. This year the award for best PhD student presentation was presented to Sofie Verstraete, who presented part of her research within the ATHENS project on mechanical characterization of short flax fiber filled bio-based thermoplastic composites.
The winners were then also given the opportunity to give the presentation again for all full SAMPE Benelux members at the actual SAMPE Benelux SPRING meeting that takes place the next day. Furthermore, the winners will defend the SAMPE Benelux branch with their presentation on November 16-18, 2022 at SAMPE Europe in Hamburg.

Participation in the Adhesion 2022 conference
KU Leuven participated in the Adhesion 2022 conference that took place in the Technology & Innovation center of the University of Strathclyde's in Glasgow (UK).
